After 26 consecutive years, and over fifty contracts with Seabourn, it is no surprise that Andreas considers the ships of our fleet to be his collective second home.
Andreas was born in Gdynia, Poland, in 1961. He was raised there too and grew up along the beach on the coast of the Baltic Sea. It was there that Andreas went to Hotel School with a career at Sea in mind. He knew he wanted to be a part of the Cruise Ship industry from the start of his career. He recalls being inspired by an advert he ones saw. He watched a beautiful white ship 🛳️ sailing across the screen through Alaska, and he knew that this was something that he wanted to be a part of.
However, before joining setting off to sail the seven seas, Andreas made a detour to Toronto, Canada, where he spent 5 years with distant family opening a restaurant in Willowdale. It was in 1988 that he finally joined the Apollo ship, Chandler.
From there he moved on to work for the Regent Sun for 4 years, and then to Renaissance Cruises and Silver Sea.
On the 20th of May in 1997 Andreas eventually joined the Seabourn Pride. He remembers his first cruise clearly, from setting sail at the foot of the London Tower Bridge along The River Thames, all the way to St. Petersburg, and he never looked back.
Andreas started off as a waiter with Seabourn, and it wasn’t long before he was promoted to Assistant Maitre’D and then to Senior Assistant Maitre’D.
Andreas has done a total of 66 contracts at sea and lives by the motto: “If you love your job, you will never really work.” 🤩😍
Through all of Andreas’s years at sea, he has still found the time to have a family.❤️ He still lives in Gdynia with his wife, Aneta,💞 and is proud father of daughter Natalia,💖 who is a Dansk University graduate, and manager of a large financial company.
When Andreas is at home, he enjoys tending to his house and garden, but always finds time for a vacation with his family to just about any Greek Island he can make his way to.
