Moreton Island, Australia

Moreton island lies 58 km. (36 mi) northeast of the Queensland capital, Brisbane.

95% of the island is contained within a national park and is popular destination for day trippers, four-wheel driving, camping, recreational angling and whale watching and just a 75-minute ferry ride from Brisbane.

It is the third largest sand island in the world. Together with Fraser Island, Moreton Island also forms the largest sand structure in the world.

The laughing kookaburra.

The laughing kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) is a bird in the kingfisher subfamily Halcyoninae. The territorial call is a distinctive laugh that is often delivered by several birds at the same time, and is widely used as a stock sound effect in situations that involve a jungle setting.

The private Tangalooma Island Resort is also within the locality of Moreton Island.

Every evening people gather near the water to admire the dolphins that usually come to visit people in the evening.
